Franklin named as one of the best places to retire in the nation
Top Retirements, an online-based rating site, recently named the City of Franklin as one of the best places to retire in the nation.
The review cites the city’s high property values with the average home costs of $370,000, as well as the city’s “humming economy,” due in large part to national corporations such as Nissan North America being headquartered in Franklin, as two of the major reasons the city is attractive to seniors.
“There is a 16 block historic district, cute stores and independent businesses, brick sidewalks, and nicely landscaped sidewalks,” the review states. “The extensively renovated 300 seat Franklin Theatre, an Art Deco marvel, is the pride of the town. The population has grown 58 percent since 2000 and now stands at over 66,000. It is home not only to local agricultural enterprises, but many corporations as well.”
