The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tenn., kept its marquee lit for 70 years since its opening day in 1937 all of the way until 2007 when high rents and mega-theaters became more prominent. Fortunately, the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County stepped in and after three years and $8 million, the theater reopened to much acclaim.
