The county chamber of commerce, Williamson, Inc, released its report for the third quarter of 2016 on Thursday.

No surprise, business is booming.

Highlights of the report include a state-low 3.6 percent unemployment rate and 181 business licenses issued in July and 1,125 in the year-to-date.

It also lists 53 total projects across all industries in the pipeline, which will bring 9,563 jobs into 3.3 million square feet of new space.

The technology sector leads new projects growth, with 10, followed closely by Health Care, with nine, then manufacturing, with eight, and services, also with eight.

The Banking/Financial sector has three incoming projects, as does the engineering sector.

Corporate headquarters, utilities, consulting, transportation and education each have one incoming project.

Nearly 70 percent of the projects come from companies new to the area.

The big headline in the report is the news that Schneider Electric USA will open a regional headquarters in Franklin.

Other news includes the news that 53 Williamson County companies made the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.
